Lets Talk Mission!

“Let’s Talk About It” aims to empower young girls. Our mission is to serve as a resource in South Florida where young girls (and mothers) can come together to talk about puberty and reproductive health. We hope to fill the void in education that is no longer being received in school or in some cases at home. We aim to decrease teen pregnancy and transmitted infection rates while increasing self awareness, self confidence and self determination with proper education and resources. Ultimately, we want to make sure young women have the support, resources and education to make the best decisions that will allow them to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.

Lets See the Vision!

We envision a South Florida where every young woman feels seen, heard, and equipped to make informed, healthy choices—where judgment-free education is the norm, not the exception, and families have clear, trusted paths to learn together. In this future, our free workshops and quarterly seminar are touchstones of community: welcoming spaces that demystify body literacy and anatomy, periods and puberty, boundaries and self-advocacy, pregnancy prevention, and STD/STI prevention with clear, practical guidance. We aim to close education gaps that schools or home may miss, reduce preventable health risks, and grow confidence that lasts—so every girl can blossom into her goals, pursue her dreams, and lead with courage, knowledge, and joy.

Our Core Values

  • Clarity🧭

We use plain language and correct terms - so every girl understands her body and her choices.

  • Safety & respect 🫶

Kindness, privacy, and consent guide every workshop. No question is off-limits.

  • Confidence that lasts 🌷

We build skills—self-advocacy, boundaries, decision-making—that carry beyond one session.

  • Access for all 💖

Our programs are 100% free to families, with resources and referrals for real-world support.

Why Let’s Talk About It! began 🌸

As a young girl, I was endlessly curious about women’s health. I read every book I could find and tried to make sense of the changes I was experiencing. Like many teens, my parents never had an official ‘birds and the bees’ talk. What my mom did teach me, though, was to advocate for myself—to go to the doctor, ask questions, and get what I needed when the time was right.

That early push toward self-advocacy shaped everything. I assumed all girls were getting the same guidance at home. But as an Ob/Gyn, I’ve learned that’s not always true. Today, parents are still unsure how to start these conversations—and our kids are hearing plenty from Instagram, TikTok, and misinformed friends. The issues they face are different, and what worked for us won’t always work for them.

So the narrative has to change. ‘Let’s Talk About It’ was born to create welcoming spaces where young women and their families can ask real questions, get honest answers, and leave with practical tools and confidence
